Through our Artists In Residence initiatives we engage local and national artists and arts organizations to bring distinctive, diverse, and original works-in-progress to Nantucket. Here, artists are free to experiment, receive feedback from live audiences, and fine tune their work, while simultaneously engaging students and the community in their process through workshops and UnScripted talk-backs.

"Fit is a play about how families and societies try to responsibly navigate our reproductive potential. We tell the story of two court cases, one in 1927, and the other in 2017. As good intentions collide and complicate our empathies, the play asks:
who is fit to be a mother? Who gets to decide?
And ultimately - who gets to survive?"
