Jordan was born in 1984 in Washington D.C., where she began taking violin lessons at the age of five.  At the Levine School of Music, Jordan began playing in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and participating in solo competitions by her seventh birthday. In her early and adolescent years of violin study, her teachers included Holly Smardo, world-renowned Suzuki violin pedagogue Ronda Cole, and National Symphony Orchestral violinist and conductor Luis Haza. Jordan continued to both win and place in numerous competitions in the Washington Metropolitan area throughout her childhood. 

 

In 2002, Jordan was selected to be a part of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas inaugural tour as one of the founding members. It was during this tour that Jordan made her conducting debut with the Orchestra at the Wolf Trap stage. Since then, Jordan has been on eight extensive tours with the Orchestra, traveling throughout Europe and Latin America. While traveling and performing with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, Jordan has had the privilege of working with many esteemed conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Benjamin Zander, Carlos Prieto, and Leonard Slatkin. She also had the honor of performing with artists such as Placido Domingo, Yo-Yo Ma, and Paquito D’Riviera. In July of 2009 Jordan received her Masters Degree and Post Graduate Certificate in Orchestral from Bard College. Currently, she is the Music and Executive Director of The Miami Chamber Orchestra, and a teaching artist at the Nantucket Music Center, and she can often be found performing in concerts across the island.
