NANTUCKET YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS
THE PROJECT
NANTUCKET
YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS
with Artist Jay Craven
June 17, 2017

Nantucket Young Playwrights works to cultivate
the dramatic voice of island teens, through
mentorships that support students’ development
of original characters and stories and the
production of their short plays as staged readings and performances. We work to maximize students’ experiential learning through the performing arts - and to foster enhanced confidence, creative collaboration, critical thinking, and imagination. Nantucket Young Playwrights represents a producing partnership between Kingdom County Productions, the Nantucket Atheneum, White Heron Theater's Student Company, the Nantucket Book Festival, and the Nantucket High School. Special thanks to John Buckey and Liz Reinemo (Nantucket High School), Leslie Malcolm (Nantucket Atheneum), Maddie Hjulstrom (Nantucket Book Festival), Lynne Bolton and Tiffany Gallo (White Heron Theater & Student Company), and Harvey Young (Young’s Bicycles).
For more information, contact Nantucket Young Playwrights project director Jay Craven (jcraven@marlboro.edu).

Partnerships like the Nantucket Young Playwrights initiative, offer opportunities for White Heron's Student Company to work in collaboration with other artists and arts organizations, providing time and space for students and the community to interact with artists and works of art-in-progress, in uniquely enriching, and educational ways.
